11. Jim Barry The McRae Wood Clare Valley Shiraz 2005, South Australia £32.95

A benchmark Australian Shiraz that’s powerful, expressive and fine showing intense black fruit flavours with hints of peppery spice, mint and coffee. This wine honours the vision of pioneer Clare Valley winemaker Jim Barry who in 1964 purchased 70 acres of prime land from Scot Duncan McRae Wood planting his first vineyard with Shiraz. Today, his three sons continue this proud winemaking tradition.
