Dear Ali,

As a long time patron of the Shish Mahal (from around 1969) I have been enjoying the cuisine from your lovely restaurant so much that it has become part of my novels. Since my first crime novel was published in 2002, my main characters, DCI Lorimer and Dr Solly Brightman, regularly enjoy curries in your establishment.

One thing that my readers often tell me is how much they enjoy reading about real places in Glasgow and I sometimes indulge myself by sharing my favourite eateries!

I am currently working on the seventh novel in the DCI Lorimer series and have another little scene set in Park Road. Friday last saw me enjoying a delicious fish curry, notebook by my side to capture the ambience of the evening.

Just thought you might like to know.

Hope you may enjoy my books as much as I enjoy your food!

Best wishes,

Alex Gray
